About Lucia Romano

My love for food began in a small southern Italian village where Sundays smelled like simmering tomato sauce and neighbors shared their recipes like family secrets. I learned everything from watching my nonna knead pasta by hand to helping my grandfather pick fresh herbs from our garden. Cooking wasn’t just something we did. It was how we connected.

Years later, I brought those traditions with me to Boston, Massachusetts, where I now raise five wonderful kids and keep our heritage alive, one meal at a time. Boston’s North End reminds me of home — the markets, the aromas, the way food still brings people together.

That’s why I created FitoRecipes — a place where flavor meets real life. Here, I share the dishes that feed my family on busy weeknights and cozy weekends alike. Recipes that are quick, wholesome, and always rooted in love.

Whether you’re new to cooking or just tired of the same routine, I hope these recipes bring inspiration to your table and remind you that food doesn’t have to be fancy to be meaningful.

From my Boston kitchen to yours, benvenuti.
Let’s cook something beautiful together.

With love and flavor

More About Me and My Family

A warm family portrait of Lucia Romano, her husband, and their four smiling children gathered around a rustic kitchen table in Boston. They are surrounded by fresh homemade Italian food including pasta, salad, and bread, with soft natural light creating a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Life in our house is beautifully loud — five kids, lots of laughter, and always something bubbling on the stove. Our kitchen is the heart of it all. It’s where homework gets done, birthday candles are blown out, and pasta sauce simmers on the weekends.

My husband and I are raising our children with the same values I grew up with back in Italy — good food, strong family ties, and slowing down at the table. Even on the busiest days, we always make time to sit and eat together. That’s where the real memories are made.

At FitoRecipes, I share the same dishes I make for them. Nothing too fancy, just real food made with love — the kind that brings comfort, sparks conversation, and reminds us that the best moments often happen over a shared meal.

So when you try a recipe here, you’re not just cooking something new — you’re cooking with us..

My Circle of Friends

Lucia Romano sits at an outdoor café table in autumn, smiling with three close friends of diverse backgrounds. The group enjoys warm drinks and pastries under glowing string lights, creating a cozy and inviting scene of friendship and shared moments.

Outside of family, I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing women who’ve stood beside me through every season of life — friends who feel more like sisters. Whether we’re sharing a homemade dessert, sipping coffee on a chilly afternoon, or laughing around the table until late, they’re always a reminder that food is best when shared with good company.
